Kitchen Spring Cleaning Tips

Did you know that the kitchen and the bathroom are the two rooms that are subject to the most bacteria? For those that have become engulfed in the fast-paced world around them, it can be easy for common household chores to fall behind. Since completing these tasks is inevitable, you might as well make the most of it. One chore that seems to fall into this category is the thorough cleaning of the kitchen. Check some of our guidelines that will ensure you to optimize your kitchen-cleaning efforts.

1. Organize the pantry

It is time to get rid of all of the food that has expired, including canned goods and seasonings that have been in the pantry too long.

Take the opportunity to do a good deed by offering foodstuffs to food banks.

2. Freshen up the refrigerator, freezer and microwave

A thorough cleaning is necessary to eliminate unpleasant smells from your refrigerator, freezer and microwave.

To clean your microwave, fill a bowl with water, add a lemon wedge and microwave it for a few minutes. The steam generated by the water will simplify the cleaning. Simply wipe with your dish sponge.

3. Scrub  the sink

The inside of the sink can be scrubbed with baking soda in order to remove stains. While cleaning the sink, you should also focus on the counter — not only cleaning it, but reorganizing the items on it.

Use a custom kitchen cutting board as a functional decorative piece! In fact, every kitchen needs a convenient wooden cutting board.

4. Clean floors

Take the opportunity to sweep floors everywhere including underside the oven and refrigerator, where dust bunnies hide.

The floors should be cleaned last, while higher surfaces should be addressed first.
